The Kesar Mango is the most popular Indian mango variety, renowned for its golden-orange flesh, naturally sweet flavor, and rich saffron-like aroma. Kesar mango is mostly grown in Gir, Gujarat. People like Kesar for its juicy, fiberless, and ideal for fresh consumption as well as desserts, shakes, and sweets.
Kesar mango first grew in the early 20th century around Vanthali, near Gir, Junagadh. The Nawab of Junagadh reportedly named it Kesar in the 1930s after being impressed by its deep orange color and unique taste.
